Contacts

During the Covid 19 situation I am aware that many Camera Clubs are looking at different ways of keeping in touch with members, and also trying to arrange "virtual" evenings.

I am happy to do a club evening via Zoom (or its equivalent) if you wish.  Please contact me and I am sure we can arrange something.  All my club lectures are quite suitable for viewing by means of desktop sharing.

I am delighted to have had a panel of work selected for the 2020 online exhibition of the Royal Photographic Society Contemporary Group.

It's called Mobile Duets.  A modern view of mobile phone use.  You can view it here:

In October 2021 I was thrilled humbled and honoured to be awarded a Fellowship from the Royal Photographic Society.

The FRPS is the highest distinction the Society awards.

Please visit my Fellowship Page to view my panel of work and the individual images.

I was invited by the RPS Contemporary Group to present a talk about how I achieved my RPS Fellowship.

It was recorded, and now available to watch on YouTube.

I have had four prints selected for the WCPF (External link opens in new tab or windowWestern Counties Photographic Federation) Members' Exhibition, May 2022.

It's always an excellent exhibition, and well worth a visit.

I have a 6-page feature in External link opens in new tab or windowBlack + White Photography, April 2022, based on my Fellowship panel of work.

It's an excellent magazine, and I highly recommend it.

BATTLE SCARS and WAR WOUNDS

2011

After the demolition of an old WWII Polish Camp I walked across the remains.

All I could see were memories of the traumas of the people who lived there.

LIVING WATERS

2013

A good friend, Ken Welford, a retired Baptist minister, had spent many years writing poems and prose.

He asked my advice about publishing them.

I offered to design and illustrate the book for him, and this is the result.

2014

This is a book I am very proud of.  It was almost 20 years in the making.

I was given free access to an abandoned WWII Polish Camp.

The residents had been moved to a new home, and I photographed what they had left behind.

It was a shortlisted finalist in the Royal Photographic Society's Photobook competition.

WHAT'S THE HURRY?

2016

I often think we rush through art galleries and museums.

The photos in this book depict people who hurry past works of art without even a glance.

WHEN HANNAH LEFT HOME

2022

How photographing the closure of a charity for disadvantaged young adults helped me to come to terms

with the stress and trauma of ending my teaching career.

Producing this book, and creating a panel of prints was, for me, more helpful than counselling.

This is a collection of images from my FRPS panel.
